According to me:
- Magic, or “hidden knowledge,” invites exploration beyond the visible, challenging the boundaries of perception and understanding.
- The occult, rooted in alternative scientific reasoning, weaves belief systems that reinterpret natural laws of the universe.
An example, according to me:
- Ghosts exist and cannot be proven with the traditional scientific method. A different form of inquiry needs to be developed to explore “hidden knowledge” (magic) and “alternative scientific reasoning” (the occult).

Why Ghosts are liminal:
- Ghosts are frequently associated with liminal spaces such as crossroads, thresholds, abandoned homes, or twilight hours. These spaces, already imbued with an air of transition and uncertainty, provide the ideal stage for spectral appearances, emphasizing the ghost’s role as an entity caught between worlds.
- Ghosts cannot be proven or disproven because they are a subjective (and sometimes emotional) experience for the person; there is a lack of testing parameters; and bias – one person may explain a phenomenon as a ghost, and another person explains it by a mere coincidence of events.
